Week 2
The first set of Midweek fixtures saw another seven fixtures in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League. Generally the games were fairly local with Crowborough Athletic playing their first home game of the season against Eastbourne United Association. Both promoted teams Roffey and Midhurst &Easebourne were playing their first away games against Loxwood and Hassocks respectively.
Broadbridge Heath V Steyning Town (2nd August)
Both Broadbridge Heath and Steyning Town had good victories last Saturday and were hoping to continue the good form Broadbridge Heath opened the scoring mid-way in the first half when Mason Doughty calmly put the ball into the net after a calm run at goal. It took until added time in the second half for Ben Cooksley to make certain of a 2-0 victory for "The Bears" which puts them at the top of the Premier Division.

Crowborough Athletic V Eastbourne Utd AFC (2nd August)
Crowborough Athletic had a tough first home game against a strong Eastbourne United Association. Ben Hermitage put the "Crows" into the lead in the first half from a rare venture into their opponents half. With no more goals in the second half Crowborough Athletic recorded their second 1-0 victory.

Eastbourne Town V AFC Uckfield Town (2nd August)
AFC Uckfield Town travelled down the A22 to play Eastbourne Town at the Saffrons in the early kick-off game. After Saturday's great win, AFC Uckfield Town will be hoping to continue their great starting form but the score was goalless at half time. Both teams had good chances in the first half which ended goalless. The "Oakmen" went ahead midway through the second half with a goal from George Cook which was equalised in added time with a penalty taken by Anesu Sisimayi to make a 1-1 draw. Eastbourne Town had both a Player and the Manager given a red card.

Hassocks V Midhurst & Easebourne (2nd August)
Hassocks welcomed Midhurst and Easebourne to the Beacon Ground as both sides were looking for the first victory of the season. A long ball out to the right was crossed and Robbie Tambling put Midhurst and Easebourne into the lead. The lead was extended a few minutes later when slack defending and a poor clearance allowed Robbie Tambling to score. Another goal extended the lead further when Billy Connor scored with a close range shot at the back post. Hassocks then pulled a goal back when a cross from Lewis Westlake was headed home by Alex Bygraves Hassocks then conceded a penalty converted by Kieran Carter which was cancelled out by Jack Troak with a hard volley.. In added time Liam Benson scored with a hard volley for the home side.Seven goals in the first half, what will the teams produce in the second half - no more goals but plenty of chances.

Horsham YMCA V Alfold (2nd August)
Alfold had a short trip along the A281 to play Horsham YMCA at the Herbert Direct Stadium in the other early kick-off game. Alfold were hoping for their first win of the season the late draw on Saturday. YMCA took an early lead when Joshua Neathey scored the opener from a Jamie Rice pass. Tom Tolfrey doubled the lead a few minutes later from the penalty spot after Joshua Neathey was sliced down Soon in the second half, Tom Tolfrey converted another penalty, after Joshua Neathey wasagain fouled, to further increase the lead to a 3-0 victory for the home side.

Lingfield V Saltdean United (2nd August)
Lingfield were playing Saltdean United who were looking to recover from their surprising defeat last Saturday. An intense first half from both teams but the score is goalless at halftime. A single goal late in the second half by Tim Beckford gave Lingfield a tight 1-0 victory.

Loxwood V Roffey (2nd August)
Both Loxwood and Roffey conceded a number of goals last Saturday and were looking to keep clean sheets in this game. Jack Cousins put Loxwood into the lead in the first half Loxwood made sure of a 3-0 victory in the second half with goals from Devon Fender and Adrian Todd and a clean sheet.

Saturdays Fixtures
This Saturday all the Clubs in the Premier Division of the Southern Counties Combination Football League are involved in the Extra Preliminary Qualifying round of the Isuzu FA Challenge Cup. There are sixteen games, seven games against teams from the Isthmian Football League, three games against teams from the Combined Counties Football League, two games against teams from the Southern Counties East Football League and four games between teams from the Southern Combination Football League involving local derbies and trips to unknown places in Kent and Surrey.
AFC Uckfield Town V Midhurst & Easebourne (6th August)
Midhurst and Easebourne continued their unbeaten run with Liam Dreckmann opening the scoring very early in the first half. Billy Connor doubled the lead minutes later to give the Visitors the lead over AFC Uckfield Town at halftime. Harry Tremlett quickly added another but Jamie Blackford then scored for the home side and the game ended with Marcus Bedford scoring the last goal well into added time to give Midhurst and Easebourne a 4-1 victory and a home game against Harefield Utd in the Preliminary round.

Crowborough Athletic V Crawley Down Gatwick (6th August)
Crawley Down Gatwick travelled to play Crowborough Athletic and their victory gave them a home game against Bearsted or Spelthorne Sports in the Preliminary round. In the first few minutes Harry Forster put the "Crows" ahead then Harvey Enticknap levelled the score. In the second half, Ollie Hyland put the home side ahead again then Ben Chowney levelled the score again with the winning goal coming from Nicholas Sullivan to give the "Anvils" a 3-2 victory.

Eastbourne Town V Steyning Town (6th August)
Eastbourne Town took an early lead when Tyler Capon scored, Steyning Town then scored to be level at half time. A penalty converted by Anesu Isimayi secured a 2-1 victory for Eastbourne Town who will travel to play Virginia Water in the preliminary round.

Hassocks V Lingfield (6th August)
An Own Goal from a mis-judged back pass after only a few minutes was enough to give Hassocks a 1-0 victory over Lingfield. Hassocks will play at home to Uxbridge in the Preliminary round.

Canterbury City V Newhaven (6th August)
A replay next Tuesday when Newhaven are at home to play Canterbury City. Lucas Franzen-Jones put Newhaven into the lead in the first half and then Canterbury City equalised in the second half for the game to end in a 1-1 draw
Peacehaven & Tels V AFC Croydon Athletic (6th August)
Peacehaven and Telscombe managed a draw against AFC Croydon Athletic for a replay next Tuesday. Tyrone Pink put the visitors ahead at half time. In the second half, Max Hollobone equalised and then Brady Ayoola put the visitors back into the lead. In time added on, Cameron Wiltshire converted a penalty to make the score 2-2 and to set up the replay away at Thornton Heath.

Horsham YMCA V Beckenham (6th August)
Horsham YMCA failed to take the lead when Tom Tolfrey missed an early penalty and were immediately punished when Mudiaga Wonugho scored. Minutes later a converted penalty taken by Louis Theophanous doubled the score. Late in the second half, George Goodwin scored to secure a 3-1 victory for Beckenham Town.

Lancing V Roffey (6th August)
Visitors Roffey held Lancing to a goalless first half but in the second half,Louis Veniti scored three goals in quick succession followed by a goal from Faris Khallouqi to give the home team a 4-0 victory.
Littlehampton Town V Broadbridge Heath (6th August)
Littlehampton Town went into the lead in the first half with a goal from Lucas Pattenden. In the second half both Aaron Capon and George Gaskin scored to seal a 3-1 win for the home side after Jamie Taylor had converted a consolation penalty for the "Bears"

Rusthall V Loxwood (6th August)
Loxwood took an early lead through Adrian Todd which was equalised before halftime by Rusthall. A lead was built up by the home side before Callum Dowdell pulled a goal back but it was not enough to deprive theRusthall of a 3-2 victory.
Westfield (Surrey) V Eastbourne Utd AFC (6th August)
Westfield had a goal scored by Troy Walters in the first half and Nnathaniel Mehsah in the second half which was enough to give them a 2-0 victory over Eastbourne United Ass. Saltdean Utd will want to forget their match at home to Ashford Town as they lost 8-0 and were down to nine players in the second half.
Little Common V Chatham Town (7th August)
On Sunday Little Common went behind to a very early first half goal by Prince Domafriyiewhich they equalised in the second half through Russell Eldridge. Chatham Town went on to score another goal through substitute Matthew Bodkin in the last few minutes of the game which gave them a 2-1 victory.

Alfold lost 1-4 to Knaphill. Charlie Martin got the goal for the home side late in the first half.

Bexhill United V North Greenford United (6th August)
Bexhill United went down 3-2 to North Greenford Utd. Jack Shonk scored both goals for the "Pirates" but they were not enough for a victory.

Week 3
As a result of drawn results, there will be two Isuzu FA Challenge Cup replay matches in Week 3 of the midweek fixtures. Newhaven are at home to Canterbury City and Peacehaven and Telscombe will be travelling into Surrey to play AFC Croydon Athletic.
