Week 7
All the midweek games in Week 7 have all the teams from the Premier Division and several teams from Division One of the Southern Combination Football League competing in the second round of the Peter Bentley Challenge Cup. All games will be played to a finish in the first match. If the scores are level at the end of normal time the taking of penalties shall determine the winner. Each team will be permitted to use five substitutes.
Crawley Down Gatwick V Epsom & Ewell (6th September)
Of the games played only one ended in a shock cup result. Division One team Epsom and Ewell beat Crawley Down Gatwick 3-2 with goals from Richard Pingley in the first half and substitute Joshua Owen and captain Ricardo Fernadez in the second half. Epsom and Ewell will be at home to Broadbridge Heath in the next round.

Broadbridge Heath V Midhurst & Easebourne (6th September)
Midhurst and Easebourne came to play Broadbridge Heath in an interesting game but were unable to score as the "Bears" gained a 4-0 victory. The goals came in the first half from Lewis Croal and Ben Cooksley and in the second half from Mason Doughty and again Lewis Croal. Broadbridge Heath will be away to Epsom and Ewell in the next round.

Alfold V Horsham YMCA (6th September)
In form Horsham YMCA travelled the few miles to play winless Alfold and came away with a 5-0 victory. Joshua Tuck and Harry Law scored in the first half followed in the second half by goals from Joshua Neathey, Stan Berry and a late penalty from Joshua Neathey. Horsham YMCA will be at home to Dorking Wanderers Reserves in the next round.

AFC Uckfield Town V Bexhill United (6th September)
AFC Uckfield Town held visitors Bexhill United to be level at half time but eventually a 3-1 win went to the "Pirates". Jamie Thoroughgood put the visitors ahead which was quickly equalised by Omar Abbas for the home side. In the second half, the visitors took the lead with another goal from Jamie Thoroughgood and the victory was then sealed by Hayden Beaconsfield. Bexhill United will be away to Newhaven in the next round.

Little Common V Newhaven (6th September)
Little Common were at home to very much inform Newhaven and went behind with a torrent of goals in the first half. Lucas Franzen-Jones scored a hat-trick which was followed by a single goal from Tom Underwood and an Own Goal. The second half saw the "Dockers" fail to score anymore goals but James Miriam-Batchelor scored a consolation goal for the home side at the last minute but that did not stop Newhaven getting a 5-1 victory. Newhaven will be at home to Bexhill United in the next round.

Chessington & Hook V Steyning Town (6th September)
Division One team Chessington and Hook welcomed Steyning Town to their "Chalky Lane" ground. Warren Lyn scored for the home side and then all the goals came from Steyning Town to give them a 4-1 victory. Dominic Johnson-Fisher scored two goals with Nathan Da Costa adding to the score and then late in added time Joshua Bradley completed the scoring. Steyning Town will be at home to Worthing United in the next round.

Eastbourne Utd AFC V Seaford Town (6th September)
Eastbourne United AFC overwhelmed Division One visitors Seaford Town with a 6-0 victory. Max Thompson scored three goals in the first half including a penalty and a further two goals were added by Aaron Hopkinson. A a late goal in the second half was added by Jack Samways to complete the scoring. Eastbourne Utd AFC will play at home to Wick in the next round.

Forest Row V Lingfield (6th September)
Lingfield had a convincing 5-0 win over Division One Forest Row. A hat-trick was scored by Richard Wetton with further goals added by Cameron Dobell and David Vetterlein. Lingfield will be at home to Crowborough Athletic in the next round.

Hailsham Town V Crowborough Athletic (6th September)
Visitors Crowborough Athletic had a tight game against Division One Hailsham Town but eventually came out as 3-2 winners. The "Crows" scored first through Dilan NLendl and then Harry London added another before George Whitley pulled a goal back for the home side just before halftime. Dilan NLendl scored in the second half to restore the two goal lead but this was reduced to one when Kane Edwards scored to give the visitors the victory. Crowborough Athletic will be away to Lingfield in the next round.

Hassocks V AFC Varndeanians (6th September)
After a goalless first half, AFC Varndeanians immediately took the lead away to Hassocks after the restart when Alistair Rainford scored. Soon after Finley Biggs doubled the lead to give AFC Varndeanians a 2-0 victory. AFC Varndeanians will be at home to Loxwood in the next round.

Loxwood V Roffey (6th September)
A hattrick for Devon Fender was enough to give Loxwood a 3-0 win over struggling Roffey. Loxwood will be away to AFC Varndeanians in the next round.

Peacehaven & Tels V Eastbourne Town (6th September)
Peacehaven and Telscombe ran riot over Eastbourne Town to get a 7-1 home victory. A hattrick by Callum Edwards was helped with further goals from Max Hollobone, Robin Deen, Curt Ford and Harry Docherty. The only Eastbourne Town goal was scored by Tyler Capone late in the second half. Peacehaven and Telscombe will be away to Saltdean Utd in the next round.

Saltdean United V Shoreham (6th September)
Division One Shoreham travelled to play Saltdean United and came away with nothing as they were beaten 4-1 by a resurgent group of "Tigers". Jesse Burbidge, new signing from Newhaven Marley Ambler, Lewis Beebee and one other put the result beyond doubt as only James Ross could score for the visitors late in the second half. Saltdean Utd will be at home to Peacehaven and Telscombe in the next round.
