Weekend Games
On the Saturday of Week 20, there are nine games involving teams in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League. Alfold and Lingfield are the two clubs without a fixture. The cold weather from the East had caused games to be postponed this Saturday due to the frozen ground. Seven games were postponed leaving just one to be played after a ground inspection at the "Saffrons" Eastbourne Town and one game being played on the artificial pitch at the "Trafalgar " ground, Newhaven.
Eastbourne Town V Roffey (10th December)
In the first few minutes of the early kick off game, Eastbourne Town took the lead at home to Roffey when Tyler Capon drilled home the first chance for a goal. An early fast pace to the game saw Jack Murphy double the lead a little while later when his shot hit the back of the goal. A good entertaining end to end game gave "Town" the lead at half time. Super captain goal machine Frankie Chappell increased the lead even more just minutes into the second half. With Eastbourne Town now dominating play Olliver Davies increased the lead further when he cut in from the right, skipped past two defenders and slotted the ball into the goal. Eastbourne Town completed a 4-0 home victory to make it three league wins on the bounce and unbeaten in five now for a rest until next Saturday.

Joe Radley-Martin scored his second goal for Steyning Town a little while later when he collected a rebound from the goalpost and smashed his shot into the goal from the edge of the penalty box. A free kick to the "Barrowmen" just before half time was saved by the home team's goalkeeper but it ricocheted off Nathan Da Costa for an Own Goal. Mid-way through the second half, the tireless and talented Dom Johnson-Fisher coolly beat a defender and then the goalkeeper to confidently slide the ball into the goal to further increase the lead. In response to the last goal, Charlie Bennett pulled a goal back for the "Dockers" but it did not stop Steyning Town going home with a well deserved 4-1 victory.
