Peter Bentley Challenge Cup
Semi Final
Penalty shoot-out winners: LITTLEHAMPTON TOWN
Jamie Wells
Paddy Oreilly
The Seaside Showdown kicked off on the banks of the River Arun and in the shadows of Arundel Castle as both teams played for a place in the Final. Both teams created substantial chances and likewise both defences were awake to snuff out any danger so the score was goalless at halftime. Into the second half and Wick took a surprising lead when Ben Gray turned a superb cross from Johan van Driel into the goal only to be mobbed by his teammates. With time rapidly running out in the second half, it came down to Lucas Pattenden to equalise and save Littlehampton Town from defeat and to deny Wick a monumental win. With the final score at 1-1 it was into a penalty shoot-out at which the Premier Division team won 4-1. Littlehampton Town reached their first Cup Final of the season and await to find out their opponents.
