Week 3
As a result of drawn results on Saturday, there will be two Isuzu FA Challenge Cup replay matches in Week 3 of the midweek fixtures. Peacehaven and Telscombe will be travelling into Surrey to play AFC Croydon Athletic on Tuesday and Newhaven will be playing Canterbury City on Wednesday at the County Ground, Lancing.
AFC Croydon Athletic V Peacehaven & Tels (9th August)
Peacehaven and Telscombe started well against AFC Croydon Athletic with a goal straight from the kick off after some sloppy defending by the home side. After several attempts with crosses from the wings, a low cross by Harry Docherty came to Jack Pettett who turned the ball into the net, a Great Start. Soon after, Mikey Lloyd won the ball from the defence then passed the ball to Jack Pettett who calmly dinked the ball over the goalkeeper for his second of the game. As halftime approached, the home side came more into the game and had good scoring chances as the visitors held on to their lead to halftime. The second half got underway with the home side exerting all the pressure looking for a goal but the visitors were also beginning to create chances. In the dying minutes of the game, a pass from Mike Lloyd was collected by Callum Hart who drove the ball home. A 3-0 victory to Peacehaven and Telscombe was well deserved and they moved on to play away at Southall in the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup.
Newhaven V Canterbury City (10th August)
Newhaven took immediate control of their FA Cup replay game at home to Canterbury City. In the first five minutes it was all "The Dockers" as Alfie Rogers scored then ten minutes later Lucas Frenzen-Jones scored to double the lead. A third goal was added by Tom Underwood mid-way through the first half. Canterbury City must be wondering what went wrong as Max Vardy scored the fourth goal and then Lee Robinson made it five. In time added on to the first half, Lucas Franzen-Jones scored his second goal to further establish a resounding lead at halftime. After a goalless first half in the first game, it is staggering to see the scoreline in this game at half time. In the second half, Newhaven went down to ten players when Don Street received a red card but that did not stop Alfie Rogers from scoring his second goal. Soon after Lee Robinson got onto the scoresheet again with his second goal. With the score heading towards double figures, Marcin Ruda got on the scoresheet. The double figure score was achieved when Lee Robinson completed his hattrick. With this incredible 10-0 victory over Canterbury City, Newhaven moved into the Preliminary Round of the FA Cup but will have to wait until next Tuesday to find out if they will be playing away to either opponents Sheppey United or Athletic Newham.

Saltdean United V Horsham YMCA (13th August)
Saltdean United are rebuilding their team this season and are finding all games a battle. They entertained Horsham YMCA to "Hill Park" and went behind very quickly after a pass from Ben Bacon was put away by Tom Tolfrey. Returning the favour Tom Tolfrey made a pass for Ben Bacon to score with a low shot into the goal. This time it was the turn of Ben Bacon to make a pass which enabled Tom Tolfrey to score just before half time. Tom Tolfrey completed his hattrick early in the second half when he put away a cheeky pass from Joshua Neathey. Later Harry Sutton had a shot saved and the rebound found Ben Bacon to complete a 5-0 victory for Horsham YMCA. It is very early in the season but things are looking good for "YMCA" and shows that a lot more work is required by the "Tigers".
