Week 9
The mid-week fixtures of Week 9 involved fourteen clubs playing on the Tuesday and four clubs playing on the Wednesday.
Alfold V Midhurst & Easebourne (20th September)
Midhurst and Easebourne travelled to play Alfold and went ahead in the first half to lead by two goals. In the second half a goal by Ethan Williams for Alfold halved the lead but then two more goals were scored by the visitors. Harry Tremlett scored two goals and one each for Joshua Sheehan and Charlie Cooper secured a 4-1 away win for Midhurst and Easebourne who moved up to fourth in the division. Alfold with no win so far this season remain stuck near the bottom of the division.

Crawley Down Gatwick V AFC Uckfield Town (20th September)
Marc Pelling scored in the first half for home side Crawley Down Gatwick in their game against AFC Uckfield Town to give them the lead at half time. Rhys White with a good deft finish increased the lead in the second half to give Crawley Down Gatwick a 2-0 home win.

Crowborough Athletic V Lingfield (20th September)
Crowborough Athletic took an early lead with a goal from Lucas Murrain in the first half of their home game against Lingfield. An equaliser by Cameron Dobell in the second half saw the game played out to a 1-1 draw.

Eastbourne Utd AFC V Little Common (20th September)
After a goalless first half in the game between Eastbourne Utd AFC at home to Little Common, the only goal was scored by Mason Creese with an absolute corker to give a 1-0 win to Eastbourne Utd AFC and they moved up the division to third place.

Horsham YMCA V Hassocks (20th September)
Previous division leaders Horsham YMCA suffered another defeat when Hassocks visited the Herbert Direct Stadium. The homeside took an early lead when Archie Goddard lobbed the advancing goalkeeper only for Leon Turner to equalise almost immediately. Ex YMCA forward Phillip Jphnson scored a second to double the lead and then Phillip Johnson increased the lead further with a flying header. Ben Bacon pulled a sizzling goal back in the second half for YMCA only for Jack Troak to convert a penalty to give a delighted Hassocks a 4-2 away win. Horsham YMCA dropped to six place in the division whilst Hassocks moved up to ninth position in the division.

Peacehaven & Tels V Saltdean United (20th September)
Peacehaven & Telscombe took an early lead in their home game against Saltdean United. Ross Barclay collected a cross, then got in front of his marker and fired home a bullet header. With no more goals in the second half but many chances to both sides the game ended with a 1-0 home win for Peacehaven & Telscombe who moved up into second place in the division.

Steyning Town V Roffey (20th September)
After a goalless first half in the game in which Steyning Town played at home to Roffey, the second half saw Jamie Maunder put Roffey ahead when he collected a pass from Morgan Pril and flicked the ball through the goalkeeper's legs. Late in the second half, Jack Langford scored the equaliser as his free kick found the top middle of the goal. In added time Jack Langford scored again as he fired home another free kick to give Steyning Town a 2-1 home win.

Bexhill United V Eastbourne Town (21st September)
Bexhill United had to wait until midway in the first half to take the lead at home to Eastbourne Town when debutant James Stone scored with a great strike to give the "Pirates" a slender lead at half time. Anesu Sisimayi pulled a goal back from the penalty spot for Eastbourne Town and then Bexhill Utd did the same when Jack Shonk converted a penalty to register his 100th goal for the club and to restore the two goal lead to give Bexhill United a 3-1 home win as they moved up to eighth position in the division with a game in hand.

Newhaven V AFC Varndeanians (21st September)
Newhaven continued to score goals as they took the lead very early in the first half at home to AFC Varndeanians. Prolific goal scorer Lucas Franzen-Jones started the scoring and then added another a few minutes later. As the half progressed both Alfie Rogers and Jack Meeres added further goals to give the "Dockers" a substantial lead at half time. In the second half the scoring continued, first a goal by Tom Underwood and then minutes later Demas Ramsis added to the score. Lee Robinson then joined in the goal scoring spree as the game came to an end. Newhaven who are a very talented and in-form team recorded their sixth consecutive victory with a 7-0 home win which moved them to the top spot in the division with a huge goal difference.

Week 9
On the Saturday of Week 9, there are only two fixtures in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League as the majority of clubs are involved in fixtures in the second round of the Isuzu FA Challenge Vase.
Worthing United V Saltdean United (24th September)
Saltdean United suffered defeat in the second round of the Sx.C.F.A. Principal RUR Charity Cup by division one team Worthing United. Dillion Nagle scored after only a few minutes followed by Dan Hill and Kieran Sellick to give the home team a big lead at half time. A further goal in the second half from Kieran Sellick ensured the 4-0 home victory for Worthing United and a place in the third round.
