AFC Varndeanians at home to Loxwood, two clubs near the bottom of the Premier Division, were the first into action on Monday night. The "V's" took a very early lead when Alistar Rainford collected a very low cross from Fin Bigg on the right and slotted the ball into the goal. A good first half came to an end with both teams trying to get the ball down and to play but at the break the home side had a narrow lead. Straight from the restart, Loxwood came out with renewed vigour and Clyde Jaques scored the equaliser with a header from a corner ball and some time later Devon Fender put Loxwood ahead after he collected a pass, turned and fired the ball into the goal. Clyde Jaques scored his second goal to consolidate the lead after he collected the ball from a whipped corner and fired into the goal with an overhead strike. Minutes before full time, Jay Popham completed the scoring to give Loxwood a 4-1 away win and a place in the fourth round of the Cup.
