Easy games on paper can easily cause an upset but none of that happened when Alfold traveled down to the coast to play Newhaven.. It took a while, but Jack Merres opened the scoring for Newhaven by following up on a mistake by the visitors goalkeeper on an Alfie Rogers shot to score from very close range.. Later Lee Robinson pulled the ball back for Alfie Rogers to double the lead.. Just before halftime, the quick feet of Marcin Ruda were too quick for a lunging Alfold defender so Alfie Rogers stepped up to convert the penalty.. The "Dockers" went into the second half with a good lead which they immediately increased when Bailey Rogers composed himself and then curled a right footed shot into the top corner of the goal.. Within minutes, Tareq Shihab added another goal by firing a corner ball through the crowd of players past a diving, despairing goalkeeper.. As the game progressed it got rather scrappy and Noel Fisher pulled a goal back for Alfold. Not to be daunted, Alfie Rogers stepped up to convert a penalty and complete his hattrick.. Newhaven achieved a 6-1 home victory over lowly Alfold to stay in second place in the division..
