Eastbourne Town got off to a lively start in their game against Virginia Water with chances and penalty shouts by both teams. Lloyd Francis had a good chance but the score was still goalless at half time. The visitors started with all the possession but the "Town" went ahead after a goal scored by Lloyd Francis. Their lead was short lived as a few minutes later saw Casey Bacarro convert a penalty for the visitors. In a very open game, both teams made player changes as they looked to get the winner with end to end chances. With the game ending all square at the end of normal time, it was into extra time and possibly penalties. Virginia Water took the lead in extra time with a goal from Reece Probert soon after the game was all square again when Nathan Hover converted a penalty with a fierce shot into the top corner of the goal. Into penalties and after several misses, Eastbourne Town came out as 4-3 winners on penalties and now will be playing at home to Hanwell Town in early September in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Challenge Cup together with Midhurst and Easebourne and Peacehaven and Telscombe.
