With no win since mid January, Pagham had a very difficult game when they travelled to play Newhaven, who had lost their last game, in the second semi-final of the Southern Combination Football League. Peter Bentley Challenge Cup. The "Dockers" jumped straight into the lead soon after the kick-off when Alfie Rogers opened the scoring and later just on the half-time whistle Alfie Rogers scored his second goal. After the half time team talk, the "Lions" sprung into action and very quickly pulled a goal back with Joseph Clarke scoring. The game became all square soon after when Jared Rence scored. Now Pagham were battling away but a penalty converted by Lukas Franzen-Jones gave the lead back to Newhaven. Not to be defeated Callum Chambers equalised right at the end of the second half as the game then moved into a best of five penalty shoot-out. Only one penalty was missed in the shoot-out which gave a 5-4 victory to Newhaven who will meet arch rivals Littlehampton Town in the Peter Bentley Challenge Cup Final.
