Every game was hard for Roffey still seeking their first win but they always put everything into the game. A hard game was expected when Roffey (20th) welcomed Hassocks (10th) to "Chennells Brook". In the home game in August, the "Robins" had inflicted a crushing defeat on the "Boars" which they hoped to repeat. Late in the first half the deadlock was broken when Ricardo Fernandes played a sublime ball through to Kelvin Lucas who rounded the goalkeeper to score to give the "Boars" the lead at half time in a feisty encounter. Just after the start of the second half Morgan Prill was given a red card for what the referee deemed a dangerous tackle but it may have been only a loss of balance as the ground was beginning to freeze. Roffey hung on to their lead until the last few minutes of the second half when Hassocks were awarded a penalty which was converted by Philip Johnson. Hassocks then scored deep into time added on to snatch the first victory away from Roffey. Leon Turner then ran with the ball for half the length of the pitch then layed it off to Philip Johnson who fired the ball into the bottom corner of the goal for his second goal for Hassocks and to inflict a 2-1 home defeat on a totally gutted Roffey.
