Newhaven took an early lead scored by Lee Robinson when he broke through the Eastbourne Town defence and hammered a left footed shot into the top corner of the goal. In the second half the "Dockers" had to endure a workmanlike performance from Eastbourne Town but Newhaven gained a 1-0 nervy victory and moved into the quarter-final.
