Weekend Fixtures
On the Saturday of Week 12, there was a full set of ten fixtures in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League. A top of the table clash between two teams level on points had Eastbourne Utd AFC at home to Midhurst and Easebourne. Roffey had a chance to get their first win of the season with a home game against fellow strugglers Saltdean United.
Peacehaven & Tels V Crawley Down Gatwick (15th October)
Peacehaven and Telscombe were playing division leaders Crawley Down Gatwick at the "Sports Park" and gained a notable home victory. The first half was goalless but there were chances for both teams but the final touch was missing. In the second half, Henry Blackmore put the home side ahead when he collected a deep cross from Max Hollobone which he headed into the goal at the back post. Well into time added on, Jack Pettett scored by racing through the "Anvils" defence and chipping the ball over the advancing goalkeeper into the goal. This goal secured a 2-0 home win for Peacehaven and Telscombe and a two place movement up the division. Crawley Down Gatwick moved down from top spot to fifth in the division two points behind the leaders, after this defeat and prop-up a group of five clubs playing for the top spot..

Broadbridge Heath V Eastbourne Town (15th October)
Broadbridge Heath were at home to Eastbourne Town and took the lead in the first half with a goal from Alex Barbary. The lead was extended in the second half with a goal from Lewis Croal and then an Own Goal sealed the result. Broadbridge Heath go top of the division by one point with this 3-0 home victory, whilst Eastbourne Town drop three places in the division..

Lingfield V Newhaven (15th October)
The "Dockers" travelled north to Surrey to the "Pavilion" to play Lingfield and took the lead early in the first half when Lee Robinson scored the opening goal for Newhaven which was the score at the end of a tight first half. Straight from the restart Jack Meers doubled the lead. A few minutes later Alfie Rogers increased the lead but then Conor Wilford scored for the "Lingers" and some time later, the lead was further reduced by a goal from Dennis Asante which led to a nervous tense final few minutes. After a sterling second half fight back by Lingfield, Newhaven hung on to the lead to record a 3-2 victory as they moved into second place in the division.

Steyning Town V AFC Uckfield Town (15th October)
With ten wins in a row, Steyning Town are in incredible form and fear nobody. AFC Uckfield Town were the visitors to the "Birchwood Ground" and went behind very early in the first half. Jack Langford opened the scoring to give the "Barrowmen" the lead at half time. Soon after the start of the second half, the lead was doubled when Jack Langford scored his second goal after collecting a pass from Jack Barnes. The hattrick was completed when Jack Langford fired a fantastic shot straight into the goal. Substitute Dominic Johnson-Fisher went on a solo run and completed the scoring. This 4-0 home win moved Steyning Town up to third place in the division, equal on points with two other clubs whilst the "Oakmen" dropped three places. Jack Langford was named "Man of the Match" for Steyning Town.

Eastbourne Utd AFC V Midhurst & Easebourne (15th October)
Eastbourne Utd AFC are also in the mix at the top of the division after a home victory over Midhurst and Easebourne at the "Oval". The home side took the lead in the first few minutes when Sam Cole scored with a glancing header and then later as the first half neared the end, Gary Ingram scored to give the home side the lead which they held onto until the final whistle. Eastbourne Utd AFC gained a 2-0 home victory and moved into fourth place in the division and Gary Ingram was named the home sides Man of the Match

AFC Varndeanians V Horsham YMCA (15th October)
Horsham YMCA travelled down to the "Withdean Stadium" to play home side AFC Varndeanians and came away with a victory after a long period without a win. After a goalless first half, Tom Tolfrey gave a chance to Ben Bacon to score but his shot was well saved, the rebound went out on the left,and came to Dan Evans who curled the ball across goal for Tom Tolfrey to slide in and score the opening goal. The lead was doubled deep into added time when substitute new signing Sekou Toure made his debut count by scoring with a curling effort which looped over the goalkeeper and into the goal. A tight game of few chances but Horsham YMCA came away with a deserved 2-0 away victory and they moved three places up the division..

Crowborough Athletic V Hassocks (15th October)
All the action happened in the first half when Hassocks travelled to play Crowborough Athletic at the "Community Stadium" Soon after the kick-off, Jack Troak gave the "Robins" the lead which was then doubled when Philip Johnson converted a penalty. The "Crows" dug deep and reduced the lead with a goal by John Sinclair and the score was equalized when Lucas Murrain scored. Hassocks retook the lead just minutes before halftime when Liam Benson scored. With no more goals in the second half, Hassocks took back to the "Beacon" a 3-2 away victory and a movement of one place up the division..

Little Common V Alfold (15th October)
A goal mid-way through the first half gave Little Common a good start in their home match against Loxwood. Lewis Hole scored his first goal followed very quickly by one from Jamie Bunn. Soon afterwards Sam Cruttwell got on the scoresheet but the visitors pulled a goal back minutes before halftime scored by Harry Sutton. In the second half, Lewis Hole scored his second goal and in quick succession Lewis Hole completed his hattrick. A convincing 5-1 home victory for Little Common with Man of the match named as Lewis Hole..

Loxwood V Bexhill United (15th October)
Bexhill United travelled across West Sussex to play Loxwood at the "Nest" and it was Evan Archibald who scored first for the visitors in the first half. James Thoroughgood doubled the lead in the second half but almost immediately Callum Dowdell scored for the "Magpies" to reduce the lead. The final whistle was blown and Bexhill United went home with a 2-1 away victory..

Roffey V Saltdean United (15th October)
Roffey started with great enthusiasm after they went into the lead at home to Saltdean United. Straight from the kick-off Owen Smith scored for the home side but this was equalised mid-way through the first half when Connor Ghosh collected a pass from Marley Ambley and then calmly scored for the visitors. It was honours even at half time with end to end action at the "Theatre of Trees". A goal scored by William Berry was enough to give Saltdean United a 2-1 away victory and movement of two places up the division.. Saltdean United Man of the Match was debutant goalkeeper Spyridon Kokas.

Next Midweek Fixtures
Next Week 13, the mid week games are a mixture of four games in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League, one game in the Sx.C.F.A. Senior Challenge Cup and two games in the Peter Bentley Challenge Cup.
Midweek Fixtures
In the Mid-Week games of Week 12, there was one game in the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League where Lingfield were at home to AFC Varndeanians. The Sx.C.F.A. Senior Challenge Cup was started with first round matches with fourteen clubs playing on Tuesday and three clubs playing on Wednesday. All the winners progress to the second round where Senior "A" and Senior "B" teams are included..
Lingfield V AFC Varndeanians (11th October)
Two teams near the bottom of the division saw Lingfield welcome AFC Varndeanians to the "Pavilion" ground. With several chances to both teams, it came to Finley Bigg to open the scoring for the "V's" just minutes before halftime. Mark Goldson increased the lead in the second half and then Mark Goldson made certain of victory with his second goal of the night. AFC Varndeanians secured a 3-0 victory and three points and moved two places up the division..

Crawley Down Gatwick V Wick (11th October)
Division one promotion chasing team Wick pulled off the shock of the evening by defeating premier division leaders Crawley Down Gatwick at the "Haven". Early in the first half, a through ball from Johan van Driel was collected by James Thurgar who rounded the goalkeeper to score. A few minutes later the lead was increased by Harry Williams when he headed in a deep cross at the far post to give Wick a 2-0 away win..

Crowborough Athletic V Hailsham Town (11th October)
With the game still goalless in time added on at the end of the second half. Harry Forster went on a solo run, beat four defenders in the penalty box and fired home for the only goal of the game. Heartbreak for division one Hailsham Town but joy for Crowborough Athletic who took the 1-0 home win..

East Preston V AFC Uckfield Town (11th October)
The second half came alight after a goalless first half when division one East Preston welcomed AFC Uckfield Town to the "Lashmar ''. Ellison Wright scored straight from the restart by converting a free kick and then an East Preston Own Goal increased the lead, soon afterwards Zead Massoud slid in at the back post and scored from a Leon Wright cross. After a period of sustained effort by both teams, Leon Wright got on the scoresheet himself after converting a cross from his brother followed soon afterwards by a goal from Omar Abbas The final goal was scored by Beau Cook who rounded the goalkeeper and scored which completed a very dominant second half for the "Oakmen" who were happy with a 6-0 away win..

Hassocks V Saltdean United (11th October)
Jack Troak scored the first goal very early in the first half to put Hassocks in the lead over Saltdean United at the "Beacon" ground. A little later the "Tigers" equalised with a screamer of a shot by Lucas Tyrell. The second half started with an early goal from Jesse Burbridge and then an Own Goal from a deflected shot by Phillip Johnson sent the game into a penalty shoot-out with the score level at 2-2. Hassocks won the penalty shoot-out 6-5 after a poor overall performance but held on by the skin of their teeth. Right at the end of the game Saltdean United had Ross Smith sent off for two yellow cards..

Loxwood V Eastbourne Utd AFC (11th October)
Eastbourne Utd AFC had a long trip to play Loxwood at the "Nest" and went behind mid-way through the first half when Gary Ingram scored for the visitors. Aaron Hopkinson doubled the lead mid-way in the second half and minutes afterwards Adrian Todd scored for the home side which reduced the lead after his shot was horribly deflected which gave Eastbourne Utd AFC a 2-1 away victory..

Midhurst & Easebourne V Selsey (11th October)
Midhurst and Easebourne booked their place in the second round of the cup with a 3-2 home win over division one team promotion chasing Selsey.. Charlie Osborne scored first in the first half followed by two goals from Marcus Bedford to have the lead at half time. A goal in the second half could not prevent a home victory..

Newhaven V Mile Oak (11th October)
Newhaven appeared to make light work of their cup match against division one team Mile Oak with a resounding victory. The scoring started midway in the first half with Conor Sidwell then Ryan Blunt who opened his senior account for Newhaven with a brilliant strike. The scoring in the first half was brought to an end by the experienced Lee Robinson. More goals rained down on Mile Oak in the second half with goals from Demas Ramsis and then straight away Lee Robinson scored his second goal. Two further quick goals from Demas Ramsis with his second goal of the game and finally Don Street which completed a 7-0 home victory..

Despite persistent pressure being applied by Bexhill United on home side Oakwood, the first half was goalless. Evan Archibald broke the deadlock in the second half to give Bexhill United a 1-0 away win..

Peacehaven & Tels V Broadbridge Heath (11th October)
It was a great start for Peacehaven and Telscombe playing at home to Broadbridge Heath when Jack Pettett scored in the first minute. He plucked the ball out of the night sky from a pass by Max Hollobone, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the goal. As the first half came to an end, a pass from Ross Barclay was collected by Mikey Lloyd who smashed the ball into the goal from outside the penalty area to complete a 2-0 away victory for Peacehaven and Telscombe..

A valiant effort by division one Seaford Town ended in defeat by visitors Eastbourne Town. After the first half ended being goalless,Tyler Capon, continuing his good form, put the visitors ahead. With the second half coming to an end, Tyler Capon collected his rebounded shot and tapped the follow-up ball into the goal and scored his second of the game to secure a 2-0 away victory for Eastbourne Town..

Steyning Town V Pagham (11th October)
With no goals in the first half, something was expected in the second half in the game between Steyning Town and Pagham from the Wessex League. Jack Langford collected the ball after an error by the goalkeeper and passed it to Joshua Rondel who half volleyed the ball from a long distance over the retreating defenders to give the "Barrowmen" the lead. In added time, Jack Langford raced through from the defence and finished superbly to give Steyning Town a hard fought 2-0 home win..
Little Common V Forest Row (12th October)
Little Common took the lead midway through the first half with a goal from Jamie Crone in their home match with division one team Forest Row. In the second half, Sam Cruttwell converted a penalty to double the lead, which was increased further with goals from Ollie Weekes and then Sam Ellis. Little Common ended the game with a 4-0 home victory..

Roffey V Horsham YMCA (12th October)
An early goal put the visitors, Horsham YMCA, into the lead against local rivals Roffey midway through the first half. Clem Asiedu curled the ball goalwards which was headed on by Ben Bacon to Joshua Neathey who clinically put the ball into the goal at the far post. As half time approached Ashley Dugdale passed a ball out to Sam Henderson who rounded a defender and rolled the ball into the goal with great accuracy. Just before half time, a Leon Khan shot was crossing the YMCA goal and was deflected into the goal by Clem Asiedu, a clear Own Goal. After a cross from Tom Tofrey was palmed away, Joshua Neatheyfollowed up with an incredible piledriver of a shot for his second goal. After some slick play between Joshua Neathey and Tom Tolfrey the move ended with Tom Tolfreyslotting the ball into the goal. In the final minutes, a Joshua Neathey free kick was met by Ben Bacon who scored from close range. Horsham YMCA travelled back across Horsham a 5-1 away win..
